Honorary Professorship for Dean of SIS

On September 19th 2006, the dean of SIS, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Steinmueller, was awarded the title of "Honorary Professor of Tongji University". In a solemn ceremony Prof. Zhou Jialun, Director of the University Affairs Committee and Party Secretary General of Tongji University, handed over the document, after Prof. Dr Yu Xuemei, a former doctoral student of Prof. Steinmueller, gave a laudatory speech.
The ceremony ended with Prof. Steinmueller giving a lecture on the topic of "Challenges and Perspectives of Foreign Language Teaching".
